About The Position
At Regions, the Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone while contributing to customers’ financial wellness. The role creates personal connections with customers during transactions, identifies ways Regions can meet their needs, and helps resolve customer service inquiries from start to finish. It offers an opportunity for someone with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience to begin a career with potential for growth and development. The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a desire to educate customers about ways to bank. The role supports customers in using standard consumer products and digital banking services and contributes to branch goals while following banking procedures and applicable regulations. This is a full-time, incentive-eligible position in Town and Country, Tampa, Florida, with overtime eligibility under the Fair Labor Standards Act for hours worked over 40 per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
- Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels.
- Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
- Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year of banking, cash-handling, and/or customer service experience.
- Spanish bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide a consistent, optimal customer experience on the cash line while handling deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
- Answer customer questions about products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests, including card replacement, information changes, PIN resets, check reordering, and basic problem resolution.
- Develop relationships with customers and stay informed about their relationship with the bank.
- Educate customers about standard consumer products and digital solutions, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
- Assist branch and team members with basic tasks that help resolve customer problems.
- Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals and needs are identified.
- Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, including duties assigned by the Branch Manager; help ensure sound banking practices and identify and report operational risks.
- Contribute to branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
- May make outbound calls using customer and prospect lead lists to explain emerging technology and help meet customers’ financial needs.
