About The Position

The Relationship Banker provides an industry-leading client service experience in person and by phone by developing and expanding new and existing client relationships. The role offers financial solutions based on consultative conversations and refers clients to other business partners for additional growth opportunities. The banker is cross-trained to perform teller duties as needed. The position handles client maintenance requests and problem resolution; supports sales and service goals; consults with clients about financial needs; advises on consumer lending options and takes loan applications; and follows operational controls, procedures, and risk policies. It also includes participating in Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines and ongoing training. The banker may conduct teller transactions, greet clients, and help them navigate the branch. The posting also describes a Senior Relationship Banker pay level, with a higher salary ceiling and additional incentive pay available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education.
Two years of client sales and service experience.
Experience sourcing and prospecting for new clients and building client relationships.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to interact with clients and prospects.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
Must be SAFE (Mortgage Licensing Act) compliant within 30 days of employment, including new or transferred registration and applicable NMLS background checks; must meet ongoing regulatory requirements.
Ability to multitask under time constraints.
Ability to travel to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or locale changes.
Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours; occasional travel and overnight stays may be included.

Responsibilities

Handle routine client maintenance requests, resolve problems, and perform sales functions related to deposit, credit, convenience, and other products and services.
Contribute to client service and individual and branch sales targets by offering products and services and developing, expanding, and retaining client relationships.
Conduct consultative conversations and act on or refer complex client needs and financial goals to internal specialists.
Participate in established Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
Build product and sales knowledge through meetings, training classes, and web-based learning.
Advise clients on consumer lending options and take loan applications.
Follow internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies, and stay current with policy and procedure changes.
Provide courteous client service during transactions, including teller transactions as needed, and greet clients and help them navigate the branch.
