About The Position

The Registration Specialist facilitates patient flow from the point of entry to the destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. The role obtains the information needed to create accurate financial and demographic records that support maximum reimbursement and clinical outcomes. It also involves scheduling appointments, interviewing patients for medical information, explaining department and hospital charges and policies, validating and entering charges into appropriate systems, collecting necessary payments, and directing patients and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding.
• Ability to interpret insurance information.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience in a health care setting.
• ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge.
• Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology.
