About The Position

The Registration Specialist I works onsite in Metro Indianapolis, welcoming patients and managing check-in and check-out. The role reviews insurance information and verifies patient demographics, completes pre-registration, schedules appointments, and supports medical assistants by understanding provider preferences. The specialist troubleshoots patient issues to help maintain smooth patient flow and answers incoming calls, directing patients and visitors appropriately. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays. Department-paid parking is provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to interpret insurance information.
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with clinical practices and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
