About The Position

The Float Registration Specialist supports outpatient clinics by helping maintain smooth patient flow and accurate registration processes. The role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and assisting teams at multiple locations. Onboarding includes Cerner training and shadowing other registration float employees to learn the workflows of multiple offices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Customer service skills, teamwork, a positive attitude, and compassion.
• Healthcare experience.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding, including ICD-10 and CPT.
• Ability to interpret insurance information.
• Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, professional manner.
• Obtain and verify financial and demographic information to support accurate billing and clinical outcomes.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Interview patients to gather medical information and explain charges and policies.
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect necessary payments.
• Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
