About The Position

The Float Registration Specialist supports outpatient clinics by helping maintain smooth patient flow and accurate registration processes. The position requires flexibility to work at multiple outpatient office locations. Onboarding includes Cerner training and shadowing with other registration float employees to learn the workflows of multiple offices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Positive attitude.
• Compassion.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding, including ICD-10 and CPT.
• Ability to interpret insurance information.
• Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology.
• Healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely and professional manner.
• Obtain and verify financial and demographic information to support accurate billing and clinical outcomes.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and explain charges and policies.
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect necessary payments.
• Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
