About The Position
Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele travel assignment in Plattsburgh, NY. Start date 09/10/2026 for a 6-week assignment on a 3x12 night shift. Weekly pay ranges from $2,281 to $2,412 with no guaranteed hours. Work involves patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit in an inpatient setting, with potential to float to other tele units and support ED hold patients as needed. This is a travel - temporary assignment.
Requirements
- Current New York Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- NIHSS required prior to starting
- Epic experience within the past 2 years
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; willingness to float to other tele units as needed
Nice To Haves
- 1 year in Med Surg Tele preferred
- CMSRN certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele unit, including monitoring, assessment, and intervention for adult patients
- Administer medications and IV therapy; operate IV pumps; perform bladder scans and glucose monitoring; draw blood as needed
- Document in EPIC, maintain accurate care plans, and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate with CNAs/PCTs, unit clerk, and other staff to ensure safe, effective patient care and timely handoffs
- Respond to clinical changes, implement escalation workflows, and provide support during ED hold scenarios
- Support discharge planning and patient education; coordinate with the broader care team for smooth transitions
