About The Position

Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) needed for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. This is a hospital setting and involves adult and geriatric cardiac telemetry care. First-time travelers are accepted; Epic charting experience is required or strongly preferred per site guidelines (confirm with recruiter).

Requirements

  • Active New York RN license in hand (not accepted if pending or out-of-state)
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience; Med Surg/Telemetry and cardiac telemetry experience preferred
  • BLS certification; NIHSS certification
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Phlebotomy competency and IV placement skills
  • Ability to work the 3x12 night shift; willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Travel assignment; local candidates within 75 miles of the assignment location are not accepted
  • RTO restrictions apply; final limits to be confirmed with recruiter

  • Cardiac telemetry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med Surg Telemetry unit with a cardiac focus
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activities
  • Administer medications, establish and manage IV access, and perform phlebotomy as needed
  • Deliver oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support; implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary, and Rapid Response teams
  • Document patient information in Epic and maintain accurate, timely charting
