About The Position

Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care in its Cardiac/Telemetry Unit. The role is per diem, on a day shift, and requires working weekends for a minimum of four shifts per month. The nurse provides individualized, age-specific bedside care using the nursing process, coordinates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports high-quality outcomes for cardiac patients. The nurse participates in hourly rounding and may be asked to serve as a charge nurse or supervise other healthcare team members.

Requirements

• At least one year of acute care experience in medical-surgical, telemetry/progressive care, or cardiac care.
• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above-average pressure.
• Basic computer skills.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
• CPR or ACLS certification, as applicable by facility or department.

Nice To Haves

• CVICU or ICU experience, or at least two years in Cardiac Stepdown.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit.
• Coordinate care planning with other disciplines.
• Provide individualized, age-specific direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs.
• Assess, plan, delegate, and use independent judgment in directing other healthcare employees in providing patient care.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals.
• Participate in hourly rounding.
• Observe safety guidelines and safe work practices.
• Serve in charge nurse capacity for shifts when requested.
• Supervise other members of the healthcare team.
