Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work in the Cardiac/Telemetry Unit providing individualized, age-specific bedside care through the nursing process and in response to patient needs. The role coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, and supports safe, high-quality outcomes for cardiac patients. The nurse participates in hourly rounding, supervises and directs other healthcare team members as needed, and may serve as shift charge nurse. This is a per diem night-shift position requiring weekends only, with a minimum of four shifts per month. It is suited to an RN with acute-care experience in a medical-surgical, telemetry, PCU, or cardiac setting who can work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- At least one year of acute-care experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, PCU, or cardiac care.
- Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above-average pressure.
- Basic computer skills.
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
- CPR or ACLS certification, as applicable by facility or department.
Nice To Haves
- CVICU or ICU experience, or at least two years in cardiac stepdown.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit.
- Coordinate care planning with other disciplines.
- Provide individualized, age-specific direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs.
- Assess, plan, delegate, and use independent judgment to direct other healthcare employees in providing patient care.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals.
- Participate in hourly rounding.
- Observe safety guidelines and safe work practices.
- Serve in charge of shifts when asked.
- Supervise other members of the healthcare team.
