About The Position

Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based PICU/CICU team in Tacoma, Washington. The RN applies specialized nursing knowledge and care in a multidisciplinary setting and uses the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is part of a nursing organization focused on involving nurses in clinical decision-making, open communication, professional development, and high-quality, family-centered pediatric care. The position is 0.9 FTE and works 12-hour night shifts. CICU experience is preferred, ideally more than two years, but is not required.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification, as required by the facility or department.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Certification in a specialty area.
• One year of experience in an acute care setting.
• CICU experience, ideally greater than two years.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
• Use nursing education and experience to provide care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost effectiveness.
• Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
• Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
