About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This Registered Nurse position is in the Medical Unit at LeConte Medical Center, a 79-bed community hospital in Sevier County and part of Covenant Health. The hospital is a full-service, not-for-profit facility offering a range of health services.

This is a full-time position scheduled for 72 hours per pay period on the night shift.

Requirements

• Minimum experience: New graduate within the first year of orientation.
• Valid Tennessee nursing license.
• CPR required.
• Education must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the required license and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implements a plan of care appropriate to the diagnosis.
• Problem-solves and coordinates unit and patient care assignments, with supervision.
• Introduces new employees and students to unit routines.
• Participates on a unit-based committee or serves as a council representative.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Completes required education assignments annually.
• Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
