About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The role is for a Registered Nurse in the GI Lab Endoscopy at Parkwest Medical Center, working part time for 60 hours per pay period on the day shift. Clinical expertise should enable the nurse to resolve complex patient, management, and physician problems without supervision. The nurse also supports unit improvement, staff and student development, education, and supervision of designated team members.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of professional experience.
Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN licensure.
CPR required.
Education must be sufficient to meet the standards for the required license and/or certification.

Responsibilities

Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital care or nursing home care.
Assess the needs of patients and families.
Develop and initiate plans of care involving patients and families.
Recommend interventions and evaluate plans of care.
Demonstrate competence in critical skills and deliver care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
Lead process improvement initiatives in the unit or participate in facility teams.
Precept new employees or students, or attend a formal preceptor workshop and be willing to precept; review preceptee clinical performance with the unit leader or clinical instructor.
Provide four contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education.
Contribute to the development and evaluation of the unit orientation program.
Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments; work toward goals and objectives; and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
