About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The Clinical Nurse III uses clinical expertise to resolve complex patient, management, and physician issues without supervision. The position serves patients at Roane Medical Center and includes clinical coaching, staff supervision, and participation in unit and facility activities.

Requirements

At least three years of professional experience.
Valid Tennessee RN license.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Correlates patient history and support systems across the continuum of care.
Completes nursing history and initiates patient education.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and makes recommendations to facilitate patient care.
Implements a plan of care appropriate to the diagnosis and patient needs, and evaluates outcomes.
Resolves complex issues without oversight or supervision.
Participates actively in unit or facility activities.
Demonstrates competence in critical skills and delivers care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
Leads process improvement initiatives as directed to support department and facility goals and quality initiatives.
Serves as a clinical coach for orientation and continuing education of new employees and students, as directed.
Instructs annual continuing education events, such as skills days, education programs, and new-equipment in-services, as directed.
Supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Completes required annual education assignments.
Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
