Clin Nurse I
About The Position
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. The role is in the Orthopedic-Neuro, Bariatric unit at Parkwest Medical Center, a Covenant Health facility in West Knoxville. The position is full time, 72 hours per pay period, on the day shift. Parkwest Medical Center provides advanced hospital services and is part of Covenant Health. The organization describes its focus as combining advanced technology with compassionate, community-centered care. The minimum experience level is a new graduate within the first year of orientation. The nurse must maintain a Tennessee State RN license and have CPR certification.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain a Tennessee State RN license.
- CPR required.
- New graduate within the first year of orientation; move to level II after one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
- Implement a plan of care appropriate to the diagnosis.
- Evaluate care outcomes.
- Problem solve and coordinate unit and patient care assignments, with supervision.
- Introduce new employees and students to unit routines.
- Participate on unit-based committees.
- Demonstrate competence in critical skills, including appropriate care delivery according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required annual education assignments.
- Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
