About The Position

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This Registered Nurse position serves the Orthopedic-Neuro, Bariatric unit at Parkwest Medical Center. It is full time, 72 hours per pay period, on day shift. The role is intended for a new graduate within the first year of orientation, with movement to level II after one year of experience.

Requirements

• Must have and maintain a Tennessee State RN license.
• CPR required.
• Must meet the standards for achievement of the required license and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing history and initiate patient education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implement a plan of care appropriate to the diagnosis and evaluate care outcomes.
• Problem-solve and coordinate unit and patient care assignments, with supervision.
• Introduce new employees and students to unit routines.
• Participate on unit-based committees.
• Demonstrate competence in critical skills and deliver care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervise LPNs, Nursing Assistants, HUCs, Techs, and sitters.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Complete required annual education assignments.
• Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
