Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is a provider of pediatric home health services, delivering skilled nursing care in patients’ homes. The Registered Nurse (RN) – Private Duty Nurse provides one-on-one care to pediatric clients, with structured shifts that support individualized care, patient interaction, and documentation. The role is open to experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs, with team resources and clinical support available. Nurses care for children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or recovering from injuries or extensive surgery. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities, flexible 8–12-hour shifts, and day, night, weekday, and weekend schedules in the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
