Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is hiring Registered Nurses to provide private-duty pediatric home health nursing. The role delivers skilled, individualized, one-on-one care to children in their homes, helping them remain with their families rather than receive care in an inpatient facility. Nurses care for pediatric clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery. The position is open to experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with flexible 8–12-hour shifts across the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions. Day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts are available. Pay is $31–$36 per hour, with night and weekend shift differentials. Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required.
- New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care involving gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
