Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes. The role supports children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery, helping them remain with their families rather than receive care in an inpatient facility. Nurses assess patients, monitor vital signs and seizure activity, provide care involving medical devices, administer medications and treatments, collaborate with the care team, and complete clinical documentation. The position offers structured, flexible 8–12-hour shifts and opportunities for both experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality skilled one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
