Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is seeking Registered Nurses to provide private duty pediatric home health care. The role delivers skilled, one-on-one nursing care in patients’ homes, helping children remain with their families rather than receive care in an inpatient facility. Nurses care for pediatric clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery. The position offers structured 8–12-hour shifts, individualized patient care, and clinical documentation. Nurses work with physicians, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes. Both experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply. Opportunities are available full-time and part-time, with day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts in the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and each client’s individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
