Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is hiring Registered Nurses to provide private-duty pediatric home health care. The role provides one-on-one skilled nursing care in patients’ homes, supporting children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or recovery needs after injuries or extensive surgery. Nurses work with patients and families to support care at home rather than in an inpatient facility. The position is open to experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs, with pediatric home health experience preferred but not required. Schedules offer flexible 8–12-hour shifts, with full-time and part-time opportunities, and day, night, weekday, and weekend shifts available throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions. Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
