Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is hiring Registered Nurses to provide private-duty pediatric home health care. The role delivers skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes, supporting patients in remaining with their families rather than receiving care in an inpatient facility. Nurses care for children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery. The position offers structured, flexible 8–12-hour shifts and support from a collaborative clinical team. Experienced pediatric nurses and new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and current auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home health experience is preferred but not required; new graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in a home setting.
- Care for clients with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess client conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity and providing care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and individualized plans of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
