About The Position

York Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Medical Surgical Care Team. The role involves caring for telemetry patients with acute strokes, cardiac diseases, post-coronary interventions, orthopedic and general surgeries, and other medical needs. The Medical/Surgical Telemetry department has two units with 24 and 14 beds, both with telemetry monitoring. The nurse works collaboratively with patients, family members, hospitalists, and other members of the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Completion of an RN program.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience in a practice setting.
• Maine or compact RN license.
• BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program.
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course.
• ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, and participate in the total care and teaching of assigned patients.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintain the highest standards of nursing practice in the clinical setting.
• Create exceptional patient and family experiences during care delivery.
• Develop and update care plans in collaboration with the patient, family, and hospital team.
• Individualize teaching plans to meet patients’ specific needs.
