Registered Nurse position on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential medical-surgical diagnoses. The patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics. The average daily census is 33, with a 1:6 ratio. Nurses are expected to perform their own vital sign and blood glucose checks. Charge RN experience is required. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required as needed. The scrub color is navy blue. The position requires every-other-weekend work unless otherwise specified. Holiday expectations depend on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period: work one if one falls during the assignment; both if two fall during it; and two if three fall during it. Major holidays are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (one holiday), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (one holiday), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (one holiday). There are no call requirements. Requested time off is limited to a maximum of seven days. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back two weeks because orientation occurs biweekly. Non-billable orientation hours are determined by contract length (for example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment or 19 hours for a 19-week assignment). After a candidate signs and confirmation is sent, the manager has 48 hours to review the profile and confirmation for unit, schedule, and expertise fit. An Aya Offer is available only if the candidate passes clinical review within the requested-time-off guidelines and meets facility requirements. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
