Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work on a general Medical Surgical unit caring for adults through geriatric patients. The role requires the nurse to perform their own vital sign and blood glucose checks. The nurse may float within the facility as needed and within their scope of practice, and may provide relief charge coverage as needed. The assignment includes every-other-weekend scheduling and call requirements, as well as holiday work based on which major holidays fall during the assignment. Contract length determines the NBO and the number of non-billable orientation hours. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back by two weeks because orientation occurs biweekly. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work on a general Medical Surgical unit.
- Full compliance with requirements is necessary to start on time.
- Use Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR unit systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform vital sign checks and blood glucose checks.

- Float within the facility as needed and within scope of practice.
- Provide relief charge coverage as needed.
- Work every other weekend and meet call requirements every other weekend and on holidays.
