About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and creates a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. The role includes assessing patient needs, developing care plans, providing direct care, and managing the delivery of patient care. The nurse demonstrates leadership, supports quality care, and contributes to positive customer relations and a healing environment.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll in a bachelor’s degree program within 12 months of hire and achieve the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; if not already certified, obtain it within 30 days of the hire date.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and successful completion of a dysrhythmia class, as required by the department of assignment.
