About The Position

The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team caring for Emergency Department patients under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse. The role supports patient care and department flow, uses appropriate computer systems, maintains an efficient work area, and performs specimen-related tasks in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. The position is part-time, with a mid-shift schedule of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., in the Emergency Department in Lexington, Kentucky.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completion of first-year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; applicants who are not already certified must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous laboratory or customer service experience.
Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience.
