About The Position

The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) works as part of the multidisciplinary team caring for Emergency Department patients under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse. The position supports patient care and department flow, maintains an efficient work area, and performs specimen-related duties in accordance with approved testing standards and laboratory policies and procedures. The role requires proficiency in patient care and appropriate use of computer functions and systems for assigned duties. The position is PRN on first shift at Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completion of first-year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; candidates who are not already certified must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous laboratory or customer service experience.
• Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, transport, and analyze specimens according to approved testing standards and laboratory policies and procedures.
• Provide patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
