About The Position

Essentia Health’s Med/Surg Neuro unit in Fargo provides an inviting, collaborative environment where nurses can develop confidence while caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the unit cares for stroke patients; patients recovering from back and neck surgery; patients undergoing neurological work-ups for dizziness, confusion, or weakness; and medical and surgical patients with conditions and needs including COPD, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeds, hernia repairs, ENT procedures, and post-operative urological care.

The Registered Nurse organizes and provides patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse delegates aspects of care to nursing personnel in accordance with their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions, and contributes to the mission and goals of Essentia Health and the facility. The role also meets applicable Joint Commission and other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting requirements.

Requirements

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing.
• Current nursing licensure in the state or states of employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.

Responsibilities

• Organize and provide nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Delegate aspects of patient care to nursing personnel based on their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions.
• Contribute to the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia Health.
• Meet applicable Joint Commission and other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agency requirements.
