About The Position

Essentia Health’s Med/Surg Neuro unit in Fargo provides an inviting, team-oriented environment where nurses can build confidence while caring for patients with a variety of conditions. The unit cares for stroke patients; patients recovering from back and neck surgery; patients undergoing neurological work-ups for dizziness, confusion, and weakness; and medical and surgical patients with conditions and needs such as COPD, abdominal pain, GI bleeds, hernia repairs, ENT procedures, and post-operative urological care. Essentia Health in Fargo is a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

The Registered Nurse organizes and provides patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel according to their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. The role contributes to the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia Health and meets applicable Joint Commission and other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting requirements.

Requirements

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing.
• Current nursing licensure in the state or states of employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.

Responsibilities

• Organize and provide nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
