About The Position

The Registered Nurse Med Surg Neuro role is based at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Med Surg Neuro department. This full-time night position provides compassionate, evidence-based care for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and surgeries. The nurse coordinates care with physicians, therapists, and families, monitors patient status and responds to changes in condition, and educates patients and families while supporting discharge planning and transitions home.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Hold a Registered Nurse credential from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing before hire or job transfer, or hold a current home-state license if considered a multi-state/Compact State.
• Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and surgeries.

• Educate patients and families and assist with discharge planning and transition home.
