About The Position

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is hiring experienced Registered Nurses for per diem shifts at Wayne County's 192-bed, county-operated skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Lyons, New York. The facility was rated High Performing in Long-Term Care by U.S. News Best Nursing Homes 2025. Nurses carry resident assignments, direct LPNs and CNAs, and may serve as charge nurse when assigned, with nursing leadership on site. This W-2 hourly role offers self-selected shifts, with no minimum hours; nurses may work two shifts a month or twenty and may keep another job or make this their main job. Compensation is $52 to $58 per hour, with experience determining placement in the range and night and weekend shifts paid at the top of the range. Overtime over 40 hours and all ten County holidays are paid at time and a half. A confirmed shift canceled by the facility two hours or less before it starts is paid for four hours; shifts canceled with more notice are removed from the schedule. Pay is weekly, and orientation is paid at the nurse's rate. Tuition assistance of up to $1,500 per year is available toward a BSN. New York license and CPR renewals are reimbursed, continuing education and certifications are supported, and a $500 referral bonus is offered for referring a nurse or aide. Shifts are selected through the BRIDGE App, which also stores license and certification records and sends expiration reminders. Fingerprinting, immunizations, screening, and license verification are arranged and paid for by CLFC. Paid sick leave accrues under New York law, and CLFC professional liability insurance covers each shift. The role includes paid shifts of eight hours with a half-hour unpaid meal break; twelve-hour shifts may be available. Standard shifts are 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, and 10:30 PM–7:00 AM, and shifts may fall on any day of the week. A Program Manager is available to help with scheduling and pay questions. CLFC staffs nursing and clinical roles for government healthcare clients nationwide and may consider rostered nurses for future assignments.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current BLS (CPR).
One year of recent RN experience.
Ability to complete the New York State Department of Health Criminal History Record Check and a drug screen.
Current on immunizations required by New York for nursing home personnel.

Responsibilities

Carry a resident assignment, including assessments, medication administration, treatments, and responding to changes in condition.
Direct the LPNs and CNAs on the unit and serve as charge nurse for the unit when assigned.
Maintain current records, including MDS-related documentation, care plan updates, and shift reports in the facility's system.
Serve as a point of contact for residents, families, and providers during the shift.
Follow the facility's infection control, safety, and sign-in practices.
