About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for its Women’s Preoperative and PACU department. The 32-bay unit cares for patients before and after general gynecology, gynecological oncology, urological gynecology, and robotic procedures. It averages 30 patients per day, with approximately 75% going home the same day. Patient acuity ranges from benign procedures to extensive oncology cases.

This is a full-time position averaging 36 hours per week. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, covering 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with night-shift and on-call requirements. Staff work one to two weekend shifts per six-week schedule.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of PACU or critical care (ICU/ED) nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse, or eligible for licensure, in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Registered Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within 5 years of their start date.
