Registered Nurse (RN), PACU
About The Position
Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The PACU is located next to the operating room, accommodates up to eight patients, and includes one isolation room. Staffing follows American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards. Surgical services include general surgery, urology, gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, and DaVinci robotic surgery. The RN works in a fast-paced, collaborative perioperative environment with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nursing professionals, providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia. Shifts are typically 10 hours, Monday through Friday, though shift duration may vary with caseload and workflow. Night, weekend, and holiday call is required. Call-back response time is 30 minutes; hospital call rooms are available for staff who live outside that response time. The position offers a $20,000 commitment bonus.
Requirements
- Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within six months of hire.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
- Support safe, smooth, and comfortable patient recovery in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nursing professionals.
- Participate in required night, weekend, and holiday call and meet the 30-minute call-back response time.
