About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Rochester, New York, focusing on Acute Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine. The role involves caring for a wide mix of pediatric and adult patients with complex conditions such as stroke, brain injury, SCI, trauma, orthopedic, neuro, oncology, pediatric cases, solid organ transplant, heart failure, and other medically complex diagnoses. The assignment is for approximately 17 weeks, with a start date of 09/14/2026. Shifts are typically 12 hours, with options for 8-hour shifts depending on unit policy. Rotations include day, evening, and night shifts, and may require working holidays and weekends as per unit policy. Weekly pay ranges from $2,183 to $2,232.

Requirements

Active New York State Registered Nurse license
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Telemetry experience required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
Able to work day/evening/night shifts on 8- or 12-hour schedules

Nice To Haves

Recent pediatric experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient rehabilitation nursing care for adult and pediatric patients with complex conditions, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team
Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and clinical status; administer prescribed medications and therapies; perform wound care and IV therapy as needed
Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and therapeutic activities in collaboration with PT/OT/SLP and other specialists
Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, reassess progress, and adjust interventions accordingly
Document care in the electronic medical record; participate in discharge planning and family teaching
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and ensure patient safety and comfort
