About The Position
Indiana Heart Physicians (IHP) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Phone Triage position. This role is for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, busy environment, can efficiently answer calls, listen, and determine the best course of action throughout the day. The RN will manage voicemails and in-baskets, ensuring each patient interaction is pleasant and proper. IHP has been a leader in cardiovascular care since 1978, offering comprehensive services through board-certified cardiologists in multidisciplinary clinics. As part of the Franciscan Health Heart Center, which has received numerous accolades for cardiology and cardiac care, IHP delivers nationally recognized, patient-centered cardiovascular excellence.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree Nursing/Patient Care
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board
- Up to 20% travel required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing/Patient Care
- 1 year Nursing/Patient Care in acute care or ambulatory settings
Responsibilities
- Respond to patient calls and electronic messages, prioritize concerns based on clinical urgency, provide education within scope of practice, and ensure timely resolution of patient needs
- Facilitate care coordination by scheduling appropriate appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, processing prescription refills, and supporting continuity of care across the patient journey
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient communications, clinical assessments, and care interventions in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards
