About The Position

This is a 23-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Outpatient Cardiology & Interventional Radiology at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in Geneva, NY. The role involves providing comprehensive outpatient nursing care for cardiology and interventional radiology patients, including pre- and post-procedure assessment and monitoring. Responsibilities include performing various stress tests, assisting with studies, recognizing and responding to arrhythmias, performing and collaborating on moderate sedation, preparing study materials, and documenting patient data in the electronic medical record (Meditech).

Requirements

  • Current RN license in New York
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (through AHA or RQI)
  • Minimum 2 years of patient care experience with recent arrhythmia recognition/cardiology exposure
  • Experience with moderate sedation, treadmill testing, and nuclear stress testing
  • RN graduate
  • Ability to work in an outpatient clinic/ambulatory setting and respond to emergencies per policy

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • ICU or Cardiology nursing experience
  • Meditech documentation experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient nursing care for cardiology and interventional radiology patients, including pre- and post-procedure assessment and monitoring
  • Perform treadmill tests, ETTs, and nuclear stress testing; assist with stress-echo and tilt-table studies as indicated
  • Recognize and respond to arrhythmias; interpret rhythm strips and ensure patient safety during procedures
  • Perform conscious/moderate sedation as directed, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe sedation practices
  • Prepare study materials for physician interpretation and coordinate with the cardiology supervisor to assure timely results
  • Document procedures and patient data accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech) and provide patient and family education
