About The Position
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR), travel assignment in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This is a hospital-based travel assignment requiring OR nursing expertise, with a focus on intraoperative patient care and collaboration with the surgical team. The role involves providing intraoperative nursing care for patients during the perioperative period, safeguarding patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include collaborating with surgeons and the anesthesia team, monitoring patient status, assisting with patient positioning and equipment setup, administering medications, and adhering to infection control and safety policies.
Requirements
- CO RN License or Compact RN License in good standing
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- 3 years of related OR/perioperative experience
- Ability to work in a high-stakes operating room environment with rotating shifts and on-call requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, perioperative safety, and documentation practices
Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative nursing care for patients during the perioperative period, safeguarding patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with surgeons and the anesthesia team to prepare the sterile field, anticipate needs, and ensure proper instrument counts and specimen handling.
- Monitor patient status continuously, documenting intraoperative events, and responding to changes in vital signs or conditions.
- Assist with patient positioning, equipment setup, and maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.
- Administer or assist with medications and interventions as directed by the circulating nurse and anesthesia team.
- Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and regulatory standards; communicate effectively with the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes.
