About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (Perioperative Services) in Montana, United States. The position is in a hospital setting with guaranteed 40 hours per week, primarily on the night shift. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across various age groups throughout their perioperative journey.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Montana or eligibility to practice in Montana.
Perioperative / operating room nursing experience with demonstrated work in ortho, general surgery, GYN, and endoscopy procedures.
Ability to care for patients across pediatric through geriatric ages in the perioperative setting.
Availability to work nights and participate in the scheduled call requirements (every 3rd night and every 3rd weekend).
Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills; proficient documentation in surgical services.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized perioperative care plans for patients from pediatric through geriatric age groups.
Enter the perioperative pathway: admission through discharge, ensuring safety, advocacy, and quality care for each patient.
Provide direct care during the perioperative period, including preparation, sterile technique, patient positioning, instrumentation checks, and post-anesthesia handoff.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader OR team to coordinate ortho, general surgery, gynecology, and endoscopy cases.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient status, changes, and education to the care team and family as appropriate.
Participate in call coverage (every 3rd night and every 3rd weekend) and contribute to a steady, high-quality surgical services workflow.
