About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) at a hospital in Boston, MA. The role involves providing perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical cases, requiring both scrub and circulating duties. The position offers guaranteed hours and a specific shift structure, with potential for floating to other OR locations within the system. The assignment begins on 09/21/2026.

Requirements

• 2+ years of inpatient OR nursing experience; level 1 trauma preferred.
• Scrub experience required; must be competent in at least 5 of the following services: gen, gyn, GU, oral, oto, bariatrics, ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pedi, trauma, spine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 12-hour OR environment with flexibility for weekend/holiday coverage and on-call duties.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; positive, adaptable attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical cases, including scrub and circulating duties as needed.
• Maintain sterile technique, patient safety, and readiness of all equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Assist with pre-operative preparation, anesthesia coordination, patient positioning, instrument counts, and post-operative handoffs.
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, communicate with surgeons and anesthesia team, and intervene as needed to ensure patient stability.
• Manage room turnover, instrument and supply tracking, and post-surgical equipment cleanup.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary OR team, adhere to policies, and participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.
• May float to other OR locations within the system to support staffing needs.
