About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position specializing in Oncology, located in Geneva, NY. The role is within a Short Term Acute Care Hospital on a Med/Surg unit, focusing on patient care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology-related needs. The contract is for 23 weeks with potential for extension, offering a 3x12 rotating shift schedule (36 hours per week).

Requirements

NYS Registered Nurse Licensure (active)
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification (AHA only)
NIHSS Certification
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg setting
Ability to work a 3x12 rotating schedule, including day and night shifts

Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology-related needs, in a medical/surgical setting
Assess patient needs, develop an individualized plan of care, implement treatments, and evaluate patient progress in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Administer medications, monitor responses, and document care in the electronic health record
Educate patients and families on self-care, symptom management, discharge planning, and follow-up care
Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure safe, timely, and evidence-based care
Maintain infection prevention practices and patient safety, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
Foster a healing environment through compassionate communication and emotional support for patients and families
