About The Position

Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele) needed for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. This is a 35-bed medical-surgical/telemetry unit on a hospital floor serving adults and geriatrics. Epic charting is required. The assignment starts on 08/31/2026 and is for several weeks. The shift is 4x12-hour Nights. This assignment allows floating within MS/Tele as needed and requires NY RN licensure in-hand, with BLS and Epic charting experience.

Requirements

Active New York RN license in-hand
BLS certification
Minimum 1 year RN experience
Epic charting experience required
Ability to work on a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit and float within scope

Responsibilities

Provide direct care for adult and geriatric patients on the MS/Tele unit, including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac needs; administer cardiac medications and IV drips per protocol; monitor patient status and respond to changes.
Administer medications and blood products as ordered; perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion; manage IV therapy.
Deliver wound care (including Wound VAC), PCA care, and manage care for ortho-trauma/total joint postoperative patients.
Support care coordination with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Work, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary) and assist with feeding tube and tracheostomy care as required.
Document in Epic; participate in rounds and follow unit protocols; respond to rapid responses as trained.
