About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical Oncology (Med-Surg Tele) working nights in Saint Louis, MO. The assignment starts on 09/08/2026 and lasts for weeks. The role involves working a 3x12 Night shift, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The nurse will be part of a 28-room Medical-Oncology unit on an acute-care hospital floor, which includes two Comfort Care Suites. The patient population consists of adult medical, surgical, and oncology patients requiring telemetry monitoring. EPIC charting is a requirement, and orientation is 38 hours. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 at night and requires weekend coverage, specifically two weekends every other weekend. Floating within the scope/service line is necessary, but on-call duties are not required.

Requirements

Valid RN license in Missouri (state-approved) or eligibility; pending license accepted for submission per job notes
BLS (BCLS), NIHSS, and Fire Safety Training required
EPIC charting experience required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-timers accepted per job data
Ability to float within Med-Surg/Oncology scope as needed

Nice To Haves

Oncology/telemetry and IV access/port management experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for adult medical, surgical, and oncology patients on the Med-Surg Tele unit
Administer medications, including basic chemotherapy administration/monitoring, IV therapies, and management of ports as appropriate
Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias; respond to changes in patient condition
Initiate and document care in EPIC; coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and unit secretary
Utilize isolation precautions and PPE, support rapid response/code events as part of the code team
Support patient and family education, mobility, and discharge planning within a busy med-surg oncology setting
