About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a hospital medical-surgical unit in Atlanta, Georgia. The assignment is temporary, lasting 16 weeks, and involves providing direct patient care to adult patients with medical-surgical needs, including oncology and step-down care. The role requires a licensed RN with at least two years of relevant experience and the ability to work night shifts.

Requirements

Current, active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (or eligible for licensure in the state).
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/oncology/step-down experience in a hospital setting of similar size.
Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced Med Surg environment.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure.
Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills; proficiency with standard hospital systems and workflows.

Nice To Haves

Chemo certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide bedside and unit-based nursing care to adult patients on Med Surg, including those with oncology and high-acuity needs.
Administer medications and chemotherapy per protocol when required; monitor responses and manage adverse effects.
Perform patient assessments, IV therapy, wound care, and routine procedures; document findings accurately in the medical record.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care; uphold safety and infection control practices.
