About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical nursing in Fort Defiance, Arizona. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with a pay rate of $2,165 to $2,219 per week for guaranteed 36 hours. The shift is 12-hour nights (3x12) and includes on-call responsibilities. The role is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital on a 20-bed Med-Surg unit that cares for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. This assignment may require coverage of weekends and holidays and occasional patient load redistribution.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Arizona licensure preferred or eligibility for licensure in Arizona
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• At least 3 years Med-Surg experience with at least 1 year pediatric experience
• Comfortable with both adult and pediatric populations
• Graduate of an approved RN program
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts and available for weekends/holidays
• Comfortable with potential on-call duties and occasional float to other units

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric Med-Surg patients
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, assess changes in patient conditions, and document care plans accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the broader care team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care; respond to call lights and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical policies; be flexible to float to other departments when qualified
• Complete required documentation and participate in unit meetings and quality improvement activities as needed
