About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit located in Aberdeen, Washington. The position is in a hospital setting and guarantees 36 hours per week. The role involves providing direct patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient status, collaborating with the healthcare team, and performing neurologic assessments. The nurse will also be expected to float to other departments as needed. The location offers proximity to Pacific Northwest beaches and the Olympic National Forest.

Requirements

Current Washington state registered nurse license or a multi-state license with WA verification (Nursys demographics)
Approved 6-hour suicide training
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Ability to work in a hospital medical-surgical setting and to float to other departments as needed
Meditech knowledge is helpful but not required
Must be a team player and able to collaborate across shifts and departments

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the medical-surgical unit following orders from the multidisciplinary team
Administer medications, monitor responses, manage IV therapy and wound care as appropriate
Monitor patient status, perform routine assessments, and document in the electronic medical record (Meditech)
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members; participate in discharge planning and family communication
Perform neurologic assessments as ordered (NIHSS) and respond to changes in patient condition
Willingness to float to other departments in rotation while maintaining quality of care
