About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical (Telemetry) unit located in Atlanta, GA. The role involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting for a 14-week contract. The unit is a 10-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit that handles rapid admissions and transfers, requiring efficient patient management and clear communication.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license with Nursys verification; active in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and/or Telemetry experience.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and thrive in a high-turnover admission setting.
• Minimum expectations for candidate profile: work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, references, certification card.
• Experience on a telemetry-enabled Med/Surg unit and comfort with rapid patient turnover.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical and surgical patients on a 10-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including rapid admissions and transfers.
• Monitor and respond to patient conditions, assess vitals, and interpret telemetry data; administer medications and therapies per physician orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate admissions, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families; uphold patient safety, infection control, and unit policies.
• Maintain appropriate patient load and efficiency on a fast-turnover unit, with a patient ratio around 5:1 for Med/Surg RNs.
