About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) in Atlanta, GA. The role involves providing direct patient care to high-acuity surgical trauma patients on a 2x3 Nights schedule within a hospital setting. The assignment is through Healthforce Healthcare LLC and offers guaranteed hours with a competitive weekly pay range.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg, with exposure to high-acuity surgical/trauma populations
  • BLS certification required
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience required
  • Ability to work night shift on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor
  • Commitment to reliable, continuous coverage for assigned shifts

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to high-acuity surgical trauma patients, including populations such as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient conditions; document findings succinctly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments, respond to changes in condition, and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate handoffs between the ED and admitting units and coordinate with unit secretaries and phlebotomy as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient nursing workflow with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio per unit guidelines; ensure timely interventions and patient safety.
