About The Position

This travel assignment is for a Registered Nurse in Med Surg at a healthcare facility in Marysville, Kansas. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/28/2026, with a night shift schedule of 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The role involves providing direct nursing care in Med Surg and Emergency Department settings within a Critical Access Hospital environment, requiring flexibility to adapt to unit needs and perform duties in both areas as assigned.

Requirements

Active RN license in Kansas or a multi-state (compact) license
BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
Experience in Med Surg and Emergency Department settings
Proficiency with IV medications and IV therapy
Ability to work night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am) on a 3x12 schedule
Eligible for travel assignments and able to work in Marysville, KS

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in Med Surg and Emergency Department settings, including assessments, care planning, and documentation in the electronic health record.
Administer medications, including IV medications, per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and intervene as needed.
Monitor patient status continuously, interpret vital signs, and escalate changes in condition to the medical team promptly.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teammates to coordinate tests, treatments, analgesia, and discharge planning; educate patients and families on care plans.
Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control practices, and participate in shift handoffs and on-call requirements.
Adapt to unit needs in a Critical Access Hospital environment; perform duties in both Med Surg and ER as assigned; demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
