About The Position

This travel nurse assignment is in a hospital setting serving adult and related patient populations on a medicine/surgical unit. The role begins 08/24/2026 for a 13-week contract with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The schedule is night shifts, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. You will report to HR on day 1 for onboarding and credentialing.

Requirements

  • Active Maine RN license or compact license, current and unexpired.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), HepB (3 doses or titer or declination; declination accepted for HepB only), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, PPD 2-step or titer within past 12 months; Flu shot required during flu season.
  • Ability to problem solve, think critically, and communicate effectively; nursing knowledge for all age groups.
  • Med-surg/adult nursing experience preferred.
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 30 lbs; visual and hearing acuity adequate for patient assessment.
  • Onboarding requires reporting to HR on day 1; agency will provide W-9 and COI as part of onboarding.

  • ACLS preferred.
  • Med-surg/adult nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and document findings.
  • Develop and implement a plan of care based on patient needs and physician orders; administer medications using the five rights and monitor responses.
  • Communicate patient status and care activities to the healthcare team; participate in MDT meetings and bedside rounds with hospitalists and case managers.
  • Complete discharge planning, educate patients and families, and conduct follow-up calls as indicated.
  • Ensure a safe clinical environment; maintain supplies and equipment, adhere to hospital policies, and support quality improvement initiatives.
